Seeking advice from Kondavil residents

Hi. I hope this post is allowed, I don't think it contravenes the rules.

My father's parents originated in Kondavil in the 1950s and I want to find out more about the place. I was hoping to talk to someone/people who live there, rather than assume the Google and Wikipedia have good information.

I have lived in the UK my whole life, I only speak English and I don't have much knowledge of Sri Lanka or Tamil culture so please excuse my ignorance.

My father's family have referred to it as a village before and said that my grandfather's name would be recognized there. I can see it is a suburb of Jaffna and must be quite busy these days. I am assuming the name thing is just family gossip as there may not be anyone left there who ever knew my grandparents.

Is there anyone here who knows anything about the history of the area or maybe has a current connection to it? I am just looking to find out what kind of a place it is/was that my ancestors come from.
