Vehicle repair bill $735
I've been saving for a new roof. I live small, in an old RV with a leaky roof. That was all I could afford after homelessness due to disability. I've been saving so well. But even with trying to do the work myself, it is still at least 2k in materials alone.
I've been doing so good. Not eating out, not overspending. Just not a lot of stuff. My splurging is eating a hotdog at Sam's club after a doctor's appointment. My newest piece of clothing was from a Dollar Tree/Family Dollar that closed a few years ago.
And I just finished passing of my Xterra. January was my last payment.
Then... The water pump died.
Then the radiator broke to pieces when the mechanic tried to remove the hoses. I had gotten this fairly cheap due to its previous history of front end wrecks from the purpetually drunk previous owner. So it apparently came with damages. So the radiator couldn't be saved. All new hoses. And lucky me, the water pump is up behind the timing belt. So it had to have the timing belt replaced as well with new timing.
Water pump
Radiator
Water hoses
New timing belt
Reset timing
I don't have an itemized bill yet, just a text from the mechanic. Almost $800! I won't be able to pick it up until I get a ride to my bank and move money around out of my savings. I'll find out the itemized cost then.
Almost all my savings, gone. POOF
Sucks to bo be me, right?
Yes. And my fridge just broke and my water had been broken for almost a full year already. I have to carry in buckets to use.
