Special treatment
Hey all, I have been in preload for 4 1/2 years and at my hub we have a pod. It is known that when you are new you have to do your time in the pod and eventually you get your own trucks in the main part of the building. The pod gets all the leftover splits, trucks added and you easily do more work than the others in the main part. For 4 years I have been in the pod, and only get to work in the front when someone with their "own" truck is sick or on vacation. when I do I can see the obvious difference in work load. I've asked to move up, I've fought to move up. They say it goes off of seniority but I have seniority over some of them. Now it is unclear what determines who works were, except those with their own trucks. So basically every morning I have to stand back and let everyone grab the sheets for their trucks. I get to pick from the left overs that are in the pod. And if you aren't super early, you get the heaviest trucks.
I have a coworker who worked 2 days in the pod and moved up to the trucks we call the "penthouse". The 3 lightest trucks in the building. They have been there for 3 years now.
Others have moved up as well, and when I asked about me moving up I got told I complain too much. I only complain when I have 4-7 trucks and others around me have 2-3. It sucks having 4 trucks and the person across from me is on their phone, standing around with 2 trucks.
I don't know what to do, I thought I was flexible by doing the leftover trucks.
My second peak, my trucks were outside in the snow.
