My ladyfingers smell and taste like fish :(

Hello everyone, so I made some lady fingers and I’m not sure what went wrong but as soon as I got them out of the oven I get hit with a fishy smell I was like it’s okay I’m gonna mask it with coffee for tiramisu but it tastes awful and idk what to do I’m panicking and is there a substitute for ladyfingers to use in a tiramisu?
