Settling for partner for marriage to have kids

I know in Japan lots of people settle or marry for family, and not so much love. Lots of sexless marriages, just to have kids. For those of you who did this how did it end up? I'm talking about still someone caring about your partner, but not really loving them or being attracted to them.
