BBR Rules Clarifications
I'm getting ready to host my first play through of the Bloodbath ruleset (BBR) for G40 and just had some rules clarification questions, and I haven't been able to find anything online about them.
Firstly, is there a resource (likely a Discord server) that I'm missing? Does anyone know what the best place to go for rules clarifications would be?
Secondly, I'm just going to post my questions here in case anyone here has answers.
- Are non-aligned (i.e., neither pro-axis nor pro-allied) neutrals with special rules (such as Turkey and Portugal) still considered strict neutrals? If Germany attacks Turkey, does that mean, in addition to the special effects on the Soviet Union, all other strict neutrals are now pro-allied? What throws me off is the rulebook stating that strict neutrals are "also identified by the empty roundel", and neutrals with special rules don't have empty roundels on the map.
- The "Argentina and Chile Rules" state that the German IPC tracker values are "determined at the collect income phase on any given turn." Does this mean on any given turn of any power, or just on any given German turn? We're going to play the 1942 setup, and Germany starts with their income marker at 54, so does Argentina become German at the end of Russia's first turn unless Russia takes back enough territory to prevent it?
- The "Research and Development" section says, "To being a technology ... pay 4 IPCs to the bank and choose your technology rounderl. Once you have chosen, place the roundel in P1 (H if 1942) upside down next to your nation." I can't imagine this means that all technology in the 1942 setup gets to start in H, and is only a reference to the fact that the starting tech for major powers gets to start in H. But it isn't in the "Before the Game Begins" section, and there isn't anything about what to do if minor powers want to research tech having missed out on the first 3 rounds of the game, so... I'm going to say that it means only the major powers starting tech starts in H, but I'm curious what others think, especially about addressing the late start for minor powers who may be interested in technology.
- I assume that any AA cancels tactical bomber Target Select ability, even if the AA doesn't get to "shoot" at all the planes (e.g., when there are 4 tactical bombers attacking a SZ with a battleship). Is that right?
- The fact that Target Select negates combined arms for tactical bombers does mean it also negates the "can hit subs" effect friendly destroyers impart, correct?
Even if you don't "know" the answer, I am interested in people's thoughts about these (and any other rules clarifications worth noting).
