Opted out of Kira Interview for Northwestern

Hello! When I applied to Northwestern, I didn't realize how important the Kira interview was and opted out. I am now seeing everywhere how hard it is to get in without one and how much they value it. Its 03/04 as I write this post, and I know the deadline for Kira has passed. Should I email them anyways and ask to complete it? Or will that look worse on me (also don't even know what to say, like "I didn't know it was important and now I do AFTER the deadline"?). I hate this and would like like some guidance, please help! NW is one of my top choices. :(
