Supporting a fasting student

🌯Food

I am a teacher. My husband is Arab Muslim.

Today at school, one of my students (8 year old) told me she's going to faint. She said this is her first Ramadan fasting. I had her sit with me and I asked if she wants me to call her mom. 5 minutes later, she told me she feels worse and wants water. I brought her one because from my understanding health and safety comes before anything else?

I let her mom know at pick up and she had no problem with it. She told me thank you for looking after her.

But my administrator is telling me next time don't give any water or food to fasting students even if they are sick. She told me the school could get into trouble for breaking a fast.

Did I do the right thing from a religious perspective?
