Canadian trying to find work in Oman – where should I look?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to find work in Oman and was hoping someone here might have advice on where to look or how to approach the job market there.

I’m currently based in Canada and have a Canadian bachelor’s degree, along with about 3 years of experience in marketing and around 2 years of experience in office management/administration. I’ve heard that having a Western degree can sometimes help with job prospects in the Gulf, but so far I haven’t had much luck.

Most of the job listings I’m finding seem to be hospitality-related, which isn’t really my field. I’ve been trying to reach out directly to companies and organizations in Muscat (and elsewhere in Oman), but I’m not getting many responses.

I’m mainly interested in roles like:

• Marketing / communications
• Administration / office management
• Media or organizational roles

If anyone has experience working in Oman or moving there for work, I’d really appreciate any advice or tips on where to start looking.
