Foundation Repairs
Looking for people's opinions on my current home foundation situation. After doing more research, we definitely worked backwards in our process.
Problem: our slab in our basement is sinking and has created gaping between the drywall and the floor. We called a company out for a free estimate and they told us our house has sunk 6inches from one corner the another. 9 Helical piers need to be added and poly jack the slab.
Fine.
Called a second company for additional estimate. House has only sunk a few inches at most each way from the center of our basement. Way different analysis then what first company said. 14 push piers need to be added and poly jack the slab.
**** note, we are not having any issues with doors or windows opensing andclosing.
We just had our windows replaced a few years ago, and have done some flooring and tile updates through out the house and no one has ever raised a concern about the installation of tile or laminate***
Now, we are paying for a private engineer to come out and tell us what the truth is. (I know we should have done this step first)
Has anyone else dealt with this or been told such huge differences in problems and repairs?
This is my first time dealing with this home situation and its just been a roller-coaster.
