My Review on RE9

I just beat the game like 2 days ago and wanted to give my review and thoughts on the game.

So first, I'll discuss graces gameplay. For me personally, first person just makes games way more scary and intense, which matches perfectly with grace. You feel like just a regular person caught in a random apocalypse. Running past zombies, taking notes of their habits, and mapping out where to go is thrilling. The segments with the girl are genuine horrifying all be it for the last section.

For me, the biggest downside of the grace segment, at least for the gameplay, is the lack of really a final boss. All the game The Girl was your big bad and her last segment was kinda just boring. no big fight you can quickly run by her and activate the lights and if need be stun with the requiem. I just wish their was more to the fight.

For Leon's gameplay, it's nothing short of hype. it's just re4 gameplay, and there's nothing wrong with that. You feel powerful, over the top badasser. His segments during the beginning is a massive break from graces and really shows the difference between the two characters. His own segment, while a little long and tedious, I never find them to annoying. That being said, I feel like his segments are really, and I mean really easy, mainly because of the ax. It is really easy to just parry everything in the game and since you can just sharpen the ax whenever it's never really a problem. I also find the final boss pretty lack luster. I mean, don't get me wrong, he's cool but mechanical theirs no mechanics compared to past final bosses or just bosses in general, no gimmicks, no nothing, just big guy to shoot and parry.

For the story, it kinda feels like they had two different ideas and couldn't pick between the two. Like the blood stuff made me think grace was needed cause her blood had the key but no it was just zeno thinking she had the password in her memory which is stupid. In fact zeno is really stupid. The wesker knockoff had the IQ of balloon animal. I thought the blood memory stuff was gonna become a really cool plot point of an old character coming back *cough cough* wesker but no nada. Victor was cool and I loved the motorcycle part fight was really cold with him but the whole reveal that he's infected with the nemesis stuff was cool but just turned into a really lackluster fight. It would have been cool if he was also a stalker type enemy that hunted grace after you and her talk in the first part but it's not that big of a deal.

overall I give it like a 8.5 out of 10. I kinda felt the story weighted it down from a 10 out of 10 I place it like above re2 remake but below village, re4 remake and re7
