2025/26 VW Tiguan Rear Suspension Knocking/Clunking

Just curious if anyone else with a 2025–2026 Tiguan SE or SEL R-Line (especially with the 20" wheels) has noticed something like this.

From the passenger-rear area, I occasionally hear a knocking sound over sharper bumps — almost like a deeper bump noise coming from the cargo area, sometimes with a light rattle mixed in. The car drives completely normal, nothing feels loose, and there are no handling issues, so it seems more like a sound observation than anything mechanical.

It might be a little more noticeable when it’s colder out and a bit quieter when temperatures are warmer, but I’m not totally sure if that’s actually related.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed similar knocking or bump noise from the rear over certain bumps.

Also curious — for those who have the rear cargo cover installed, have you noticed if it makes the cargo area any quieter over bumps, or does it not really make much difference?
