gift for a friend on a heavenly birthday

one year ago, my (23f) best friend's (24f) younger brother (20M) ended his life. his heavenly birthday is this summer.
both he and she loved the game tomodachi life when they were kids. this april, tomodachi life: living the dream is coming out for the switch.

would it be a reasonable thing to do to give my BFF the game as a gift on his heavenly birthday so she can think about the good times they had playing the game when they were little? or should i wait until christmas to give it to her?
