Curious - Why?

I am genuinely curious why people are buying boxes of Pokémon now as an investment for 10-20 years out, they’ll still never be the first ones or the originals, they’re just cards that are old, while the first box sets and what not can go up even higher and that would make sense, I don’t see why a 2026 box from target would be worth anything? Can someone explain this to me?

I’m not throwing digs at anyone, simply curious if I am missing something here
