Verizon bought Frontier and saw that Fios is available in Fairfield. When is best to switch?

Obviously they’re putting out great deals right now but if I make the switch now will I be relying on legacy fiber optic cable from Frontier until Verizon upgrades all the systems?

Have Optimum at the moment and it’s been a nightmare considering how often the network goes down
