Best platform to virtually send someone a card and money, collected through a group, as a gift?

Someone I know was recently laid off. A large group of friends and I want to put together a card and collect money for him.

Many of the virtual card options I’ve seen don’t seem to allow for much text. And many of us would write at least a few paragraphs.

Also for the money, I’m thinking of something similar to GoFundMe, but without it seeming like he’s a charity case… I would direct everyone to just send it right to his Venmo or something like that but I think many would want to give anonymously and I think it would be more meaningful to get the money part in a lump sum with the card, maybe as a QR code? Any thoughts?
