my new cat (2 female) won’t stop meowing at night ;(

i recently adopted this cat, Luna and she was very timid and reserved when i first met her and brought her home today as she was a rescue prior to the lady i adopted her from.

Luna was hiding under the kitchen table on a chair and she spent probably most of her time there yet until about 11pm/12am where she began to explore a little, retreating quickly though when the grounds became too uncommon.

she was put to bed and she was quiet until my dad went downstairs to get a glass of water and when he went back upstairs she started meowing at the door, not howling or yeowling but just meow-meow-meeow (?)

i went downstairs to check on her and she quietened down, then she explored my room but wouldn’t sleep there so she went downstairs so i closed over the door and she started meowing again

it’s seems to quiet down now as i post this but i just want to ask is this normal and for advice as i think i hear her roaming around at the moment?

edit: she is eating well (devouring the food lol), using the litter box and when i’m down with her she’s chirping and rubbing against my legs!
