Should you open a backup Analogue Pocket to check for defects, or keep it sealed?
I recently ordered a second Analogue Pocket to keep as a backup in case something ever happens to the one I use daily. But it got me thinking about something.
Is anyone else worried that a sealed backup unit might actually be defective, and the only way you’d ever find out is years later when you finally open it?
Part of me wants to keep it completely boxed to preserve it as a true backup, but another part of me is tempted to open it just to make sure everything works while it’s still relatively new.
For those of you who keep backup units of your devices, do you usually open them to test them first, or do you leave them sealed and just hope for the best?
Curious what most people do in this situation.
