Is my friend being lied to by a service member?

Discussion

My friend is recently engaged to a guy in the army reserve. Some of the things he's told her don't seem to add up, but since I never served I just want some clarification.

The first thing is that he told her that he was a colonel. He's only 19 so I assumed my friend misheard corporal, but she kept saying colonel, which obviously there aren't any 19 year old colonels in the army. He also told her that he has 3 C-5's under his command, but how would an E-3? in the army have multiple air force planes under his command. He also said that he's in delta force, but you have to be 21 to be eligible for delta, and there are no reserve delta, ranger, or green beret units (granted I googled this so I don't know if its correct).

He also proposed to her because his unit was going to be called up and sent to the middle east, but if getting engaged was a "get out of deployment free card" wouldn't everyone do it?

These things don't seem to add up, but I would like some clarification. I would also ask you to keep judgements to yourselves, and if possible, and advice on how to bring this up to her.
