Is over-explaining an attempt at control?

Need support/advice

I work a pretty high stress job but luckily management is super chill in regards to work life balance. During my first interview my boss said she is totally fine with people taking off whenever they need to as long as it’s communicated and I was sold.

But I still find myself completely over explaining myself anytime I need to ask off work. A good portion of it is from anxiety of course (except I’m not sure why) and then there’s a part of me that feels if I over explain I can control the response, outcome or my emotions if I was to be refused the time off (unrealistic). And then I spend days replaying how cringey it was that I overexplained myself to the point that it’s just looping in my head on repeat, making me nauseous. And my next work day I force myself to be as quiet as possible so people don’t perceive me as too talkative or over explain things.

It’s a viscous cycle and I hate that my mind just loops like this. I’m not sure if it’s my OCD or just my anxiety.

Typically my OCD leans more on the contamination side and walking patterns. Haven’t brought the work stuff up to my therapist yet though.
