Anyone else with predominantly hyperactive-impulsive?

General Question/Discussion

I'm 25 and I am in the process of getting diagnosed, but I started a trial vyvanse prescription recently and it makes an insane difference. For the first time in my life my thoughts aren't louder than everything happening outside of my body (when people talk I can hear them in my head??).

I likely have hyperactive-impulsive adhd, with a few inattentive traits like excessive daydreaming and difficulty paying attention, but I've gotten really good at over compensating for those. But I don't have most of the traits associated with adhd in women that I've read about so far. my apartment is always clean, I don't forget dates or appointments, I don't procrastinate, I get things done on time etc. I think this is part why it took such a long time before a therapist identified my racing thoughts as adhd and not just anxiety. Also, my dad has severe combined adhd (I describe him as the absent minded professor stereotype on crack) and I was in denial I could have it too until a few months ago.

Anyways, I've been trying to do more research on how hyperactive adhd presents in women, but I haven't found much! I understand it is a complex mixture of sociological and cultural factors, gender identity and presentation, genetics and who knows what else. I am interested to hear from anyone else here who has predominantly hyperactive-impulsive.
