Family Ties final lyric is wrong
Lads, am I the only one who thinks that Baby Keem‘s final lyric in family ties is not “Number two DM’n my b****. That’s cool. I don’t ask why.” but instead I hear ”Number two DM’n my b****. That’s cool, I’m him, that’s why.”
(where “I’m him” sounds more like “I’m em”)
The context of the lyric as I’m phrasing it makes more sense because Kendrick is listing out all the reasons why he’s number one and so Baby Keem is going to end the song by saying number two is talking to my girl, but I don’t care cause I’m him.
It also doesn’t make sense for the lyrics to say “I don’t ask why”. I don’t buy the explanation on Genius that it’s a transition to the next track in the album scars (where he’s talking about asking God why) when it’s not like it’s a fluid transition and it doesn’t even make thematic sense.
In my opinion, Baby Keem skillfully said this line very densely and it has transcribed incorrectly on all platforms like Spotify, Genius, Apple Music, etc..
Can y’all please help me get to the bottom of this?
