Superiority/Feeling Like People Can’t “Keep Up”
I frequently feel as though people can’t keep up with me when having conversations. The only way I could label this is a superiority complex. But I am in the common crux everyone with a superiority complex has. “I’m not ACTUALLY superior. I’m just interested in a wide range of topics, have an above average memory, and it is very easy for me to learn/pick up new things”
I understand that the only experience I am aware of is my own whereas I only see the external process of other individuals. Of COURSE my internal experience will feel superior to someone’s exterior presentation.
But this is my problem. I feel unsatisfied with all of my relationships. Not because I am “superior” literally but I am seeking something that doesn’t exist. No one’s external presentation will match my internal experience.
Beyond speed, and memory recall. I simply feel like most individuals don’t share the depth I am looking for which leads me to leading a shallow life. When I try to meet people with depth they leave. When I present myself at their level of depth they love it and it feels intimate to them, but I feel like I am lobotomizing myself simply to maintain connection. None of my relationships feel fulfilling. How do you guys deal with it?
