Story beats for a bard?
So, I'm running a campaign that takes large part (99.9%) in a 1400's america type, renaissance-era frontier, but there's a bit of an issue; one of my players is an urbanite bard, with little affinity for combat ('just a guy', as he puts it) that has lived in mostly cosmopolitan settings across his life. I did ask if he was sure, with what the campaign's setting was going to be, and he said yes.
So, now herein comes the issue; in a campaign designed to focus on survival against nature and monsters, what are some good things to include that don't exclude him? Like, what's some good bard stuff to include when I'm mostly limited to frontier towns and party encampments? I've been having this struggle for a little bit now, trying to fit his bard in in a way that feels natural and compliments the story and also doesn't isolate him...
