Stims cancelled because of cyst

I had 3 failed IUIs last year and I did two rounds of clomid and one of letrozole. I had to stop 8 months ago because I developed an ovarian cyst that was very painful. We were told our only option was to try IVF but we couldn’t do it financially.

Fast forward 8 months and California passed a law to make IVF covered with insurance and we got the all clear and all my meds were delivered. I had one last ultrasound to check my lining before starting stims and the doctor said the cyst was still there.

He said the cyst shouldn’t cause any issues but that he wanted to check my hormone levels to make sure the cyst wasn’t producing hormones. After labs he confirmed it was so he started me on birth control to see if that helps.

Now I’m pushed out another month and will recheck at the end of this month but has anyone else experienced this? He said the BC was to shrink the cyst but when I googled how long BC usually takes it said BC doesn’t shrink cysts so now I’m just confused. 🤔

Feels like I just can’t catch a break.
