Healthcare / Caregivers overriding emergency contacts

Has anyone experienced this & trying to decide what’s TMI?

So I’m LC & only interact with my nmom when I choose & or to help siblings out. My GC sibling is health care proxy & manages her finances & IS respectful of my limits. I’ve got both obvious “my parent was awful” to me reasons plus a LOT of life things right now my siblings know about & respect.

I’m the only local child so in the past I DID manage my father’s healthcare but that’s a person I actually loved & my life situation was different.

Siblings are listed as emergency contacts but now with a multiple hospital stays & going back & forth to rehab my nmom keeps giving staff MY name & # even tho I’m NOT listed in her official charts.

Today rehab staff called me from my nmom’s cell saying she’s going back to hospital (for something minor & then returned to rehab) & she’s insisting I meet her there.

Nope. I was headed into therapy (oh the irony) .

I was too angry to call rehab today but when I’m calmer am calling to make it clear I’m not to be called AT ALL.

Has anyone else had to deal with this?! I know health care folks are overwhelmed & I know she’s pulling her cute little old lady act, but WTF we can’t be the first family with an abusive parent & you’d think staff would have some protocols on NOT calling someone who’s not listed as a contact person. Aaarrghh
