Recommendations for ink/book and industrial scents.

In decending order by favorite house subdivided by favorite smell from that house also in order: Alkemia - Writers blood.

Got this in a sample set while looking for book themed scents and am very impressed. A little goes a long way with a deep almost cutting spice and ink note with hints of metal on skin. So far this is my favorite in very high moderation. I typically add a small amount to Bibliotheca as I find they pair well together. This is spicy in the way ink from a pen is spicy if you have ever split a pen.

Alkemia - Book of Shadows

Strong ink smell that is more bright than Bibliotheca. I hesitate to compare it to having a linen note but it is more active and clean smelling than bibliotheca. I honestly prefer it more but where Writers blood is pronounced and Bibliotheca is subdued this is more of a middle ground where you can add to it but not much. If I was wearing only one thing I would prefer this. Highly recommend this.

Alkemia - Bibliotheca.

This is what I was originally aiming for via recommendations and I enjoy it a lot but has a very muted/soft smell to it that is an amazing ink and maybe old parchment smell but is very passive and soft. You can wear this anywhere, it pairs well with more active scents and is very cozy.

Honorable mention for Alkemia: Deus Ex Machina - A nice industrial smell similar to writers blood but with more of a machine oil take over ink and less spicy.

I dislike their ocean scents but enjoy petrichor from other houses so maybe I just didn't get lucky with my picks or have different taste.

Poesie- Whisper your bitter things.

Got this as a free sample and honestly enjoy it more than what I ordered in many ways. It has a marshmallow undertone like nearly everything from this house I ordered has and a bit of spice to it. I enjoy this a lot for at home.

Villa Diodatti- has a mansion's library smell to it and a middle ground active smell like book of shadows but more marshmallow forward and with less deep undertones. I enjoy this a lot even if I dislike the sweet marshmallow smell most of poesie that I ordered has.

Fantome - Namba

This is great vanilla and machine oil smell. It was the only one I really enjoyed from Fantome but I enjoyed it a lot and will be ordering more. It is a very good vanilla that doesn't verge into sweet territory. It also has some notes from nightlife like petrichor off the sidewalk and a light benzene motor oil scent that goes under the radar.
