AF on PanLeica 25mm f1.4

Just ordered this lens used and I’m testing it out to make sure everything is working properly. I’m not sure if theres something wrong with the AF, but it seems to stutter a bit. so Far I’ve only tested it wide open and indoors. I’ve tried AFS and AFC as well. When I hold down the shutter button halfway the lens goes In and out of focus And won’t settle on the subject.

This is my first prime lens on my first camera (LUMIX G3), so excuse me if this is an obvious user error. I just haven’t noticed this happening on my other two zoom lenses i dont think.

I will test it outside tomorrow as well and see what happens. Thanks!

EDIT: I know the lens is meant for street and wider subjects than interior stuff but I’m still beyond the minimum focusing distance of .3m when I test it. And its like the lens can’t figure out where to focus.
