Beach vacations are trash

Title says it all. Want to get sunburned? Check. Want to pay overprice for a room? Check. Want to get dehydrated from the sun and saltwater combo? Check. Want to have locals that hate you? Check. Want to have overpriced food and entertainment? Check. Want God awful traffic? Check.

I just don’t get it. I have enjoyed some coastal stays, but the thought of over paying for literally everything to do nothing just rubs me the wrong way. Now don’t get me wrong, my wife and family love coastal retreats and I am happy to oblige. I just feel like there are more things in the world to see than to go to beaches and have roughly the same experience everywhere you go. If you’ve been to one, well, you’ve been to them all. You’re better off going to a city and seeing the local culture than having the same bullcrap at every beach stay.
