slightly confused

i’m only on chapter 10 so no spoilers please (i love it so far the artstyle is just beautiful)

so olruggio just appeared and is all about reporting coco to the knights. it is also explained that he is there so that no secrets can be kept from the other witches and the great hall

and yet coco’s apprenticeship seems to be widely known. the girls are not surprised when she first arrives, when qifrey goes to pick up hat and cloak for her, he talks about it pretty openly too. the stationer guy is also in the loop about her.

so what secret is qifrey asking olruggio to keep from the knights? am i missing something?
