The hardest part of running a small freelance business wasn’t finding clients
For a long time I thought the hardest part of running a small freelance business would be finding clients.
But once I started getting consistent work, I realized something else was actually harder.
Organization.
Projects coming from different clients.
Invoices sent at different times.
Payments arriving weeks apart.
And somehow everything ends up scattered between spreadsheets, notes, and random tools.
At one point I realized I was spending more time trying to understand where things were than actually doing the work.
Eventually I changed the way I organize everything and the difference was huge.
Now everything is much clearer — projects, invoices, monthly income, and unpaid balances.
Less stress.
More clarity.
