14 year old laptop just died, would love a cheap modern replacement [14+ in screen, US, 150-300$]
No need for any crazy gaming capabilities or video editing or anything heavy duty like that. I've already got a desktop for that. I used my previous laptop exclusively to browse the web and to hook up to a tv to watch movies through VLC player. So, any modern machine that can do that will certainly be an upgrade vs my 2012 laptop that took 20 minutes to turn on and just got stuck in a blue screen loop finally after all these years(RIP).
The only requirements would be a numpad on the keyboard, a 14+ inch screen (I just don't like mini laptops), an hdmi port, and an SSD so it can be 100,000,000x faster than its predecessor.
I'd love for the price point to be between 150 and 300, but I fear that searching for laptops at such a price sorta makes a lot of things look like scams. Also, most other reddit threads asking for that price range, all the comments are just: "You gotta get something used or refurbished for that price!" without giving any specific computers to look for or even where to search. Ebay? 'Refurbished' stuff on Amazon/Best Buy/etc? I've been out of the laptop-buying game for a decade and a half so help me out pls lol
A little searching gave me these. Are they any good for what I want?
