Recommendations for physical activity toys for 5-month-old?
We already have the Fisher Price kick and play piano which my baby LOVES, but I feel like I’m posting her up there too much. She also has a standard playmat that she can lie on and bat at toys hanging above her, which again she does seem to enjoy, but I feel like she’s spending too much time on it.
We have a Skip Hop Jumper that a friend gave us, but I think we need to hold off on using that until she’s 6 months old or at least has better head/neck control (she’s doing pretty well and can roll from stomach to back, but cannot yet sit upright unaided; for the same reason, she’s not quite ready for sitting in a highchair and introducing solids).
Baby has gotten to a point where she wants a lot more physical activity that is somewhat self-directed, and I feel bad that I’m only really laying her on her kick and play piano mat or on a yoga mat with toys to practice her rolling. I’m obviously trying to interact with her while she does these things, but it still feels like I’m not giving her nearly enough variety in activities. Bc she can’t sit up unassisted, I feel like I’m perpetually propping her up in annoyingly temporary pillow setups or putting her in containers like her Baby Bjorn bouncer, the baby carrier, or her stroller. Anyone have recommendations for other physical activity toys that she can engage with now?
