Started a new role in a new city, but need to quit and relocate back to a different state for family reasons - best way to go about this?
Long story short, wife and I moved to a new city on the West Coast last summer. I got a new Job in early January. Due to my mother's health decline and my father already not doing so well, we made the hard decision last week that we would like to move back to the east coast to be with family while theyre still around for a couple more years. It would be a permanent move. We're going to buy a house and settle there for good. We initially moved to California because of job offers and to make some more money. We intended to be here for at least a few years but it's in our best interest to move.
How do I go about listing a job on my resume that I've had for 2 months and want to leave? Should I list it at all or leave a gap? I have no idea how to proceed here.
I'm not a "job hopper," despite it looking that way. I would ideally want my next job out east to be permanent.
Please give advice if you're a recruiter, hiring manager, or have been in this situation before. Being that I have a residence back in my home state, should I just list that as my residence despite living in California? Are virtual interviews still common, since I can't really take time off for a few months at my new role.
Thanks.
