Sometimes the right answer is just NO
Guest asked for late checkout because their flight was at 6pm. Place was booked same night.
Old me would've said yes and scrambled. Called cleaner, offered extra pay, stressed about timeline, probably messed something up.
New me: Unfortunately we have a same-day booking so I can't extend checkout, but there's luggage storage at the coffee shop two blocks away.
Guest said no problem, left on time.
We overcomplicate hosting sometimes. You don't have to solve every problem. No, but here's an alternative is fine. Guests are more understanding than you expect.
What boundary did you set that guests actually appreciated?
