Chapter book about a girl who wants glass shoes and a magic ghost cat that grants her wish.

I think I read this book when i was preteenage (2000-2003) and I think was part of a series. It was about a young girl, who i think was named Brigit, who wishes that she had the same glass shoes that all the girls are wearing at school, but her parents won't buy her a pair for one reason or another, but a ghostly magical cat is willing to grant her wish of she completes a few silly tasks that it asks if her. All of the tasks revolve around her wearing her clothes in an unusual way that makes her feel embarrassed, and ultimately the cat gets her the shoes but she finds that they are no longer popular, and they uncomfortable and give her blisters. Instead, the kids around her school are now wearing their clothes in the same unusual way she had been, making her a fashion trend setter at her school.
