Am I over thinking?
Me (50f) and him (45m) was put in contact from a mutual friend as both single and possibly a match. He doesn't know my exact age but he doesn't seem to care.
We haven't spoken on the phone or met yet. I'm very busy and, honestly, probably don't have the time or real interest in the process of getting to know someone right now. I have my own place with property and large animals and a career that take a lot of my time and energy. But if I met someone and it clicked, id try to make it work.
First off, he isnt my "type" visually. But I can easily be attracted to personality and find a man very handsome once I get to know them. I'm getting old and my hormones are not raging so connecting on a deeper level is important to me.
He told me he has roommates. He lives with a couple expecting their first kid. This is a bit of a turn off for a variety of reasons but willing to hear him out.
He starts texting me selfies. The last one, which I did not respond to, was shirtless in bed.
He told me I'm hot and that my grey hair is a turn on.
Tbh, I don't find this attractive and not sure how to convey this. I spent my entire youth being sexually objectified and now id rather not get that kind of attention from strangers. I have no interest in being "hot" but, if we were dating, an occasional compliment would be welcome.
I'm from the generation where I was taught to always be polite so I don't know how to say my thoughts about this. I don't want to waste our time if he doesn't meet certain deal breakers, like finicial stability. I've worked my ass off to be where I am and will NEVER support another man again.
I'm already off put, but may not be giving a perfectly nice man a chance.
