Was your type 2 diagnosis a surprise or did you have symptoms first?

Hey all, I’m curious how people here first found out they had T2.
Was it routine labs (A1C/fasting glucose), symptoms that sent you in, or something else?

If you had symptoms, what were they and how long did they go on before you got checked?
