My 6 month old has now twice vomited after eating. How can we avoid overfeeding?

6 months old

LO is 6 months and has enjoyed BLW. We‘ve stuck mostly to dinner as the only solid, and have had no issues with the allergens we’ve introduced so far (wheat, soy, egg).

However, on two DIFFERENT occasions, she has vomited, a lot, like her entire stomach contents. The first time we went to the emergency room and they said it was fine. No signs of an allergic reaction. The second time just happened and she seems fine so far (I will not be sleeping tonight). I think the issue may be that she is overfeeding but I can’t understand why that is. We don’t spoon feed her, although a spoon is loaded with food if it’s too soft and offered to her. Additionally, she is breastfed at least 15 mins before dinner and breastfed about an hour after solids to help her nurse to sleep. I think on both occasions she hadn’t pooped at all in the afternoon and evening. She typically has 4 bowel movements but some days she only has one or none. I don’t know what to do about that, but she doesn’t seem to complain, and her poos are usually liquid like with milk or have food she ate in them, but no constipation. I let her move around all throughout the night before dinner.

I guess I just dont understand why she’s overfeeding; when she’s full of solids or milk, she stops eating and tells us she’s done. How can we prevent this from happening again? Husband is considering banning all food at this point, or at least severely restricting it. We at least agreed to no more than one small tiny plateful, whatever that means.
