Any good ways to reach The Light Dragon early game?

I ask because I'd like to get some Light Dragon parts to upgrade my tunic.

I've been told the Light Dragon appears lower to the ground if you collect all the tears, but I dont want to rush through a large chunk the game's story content simply to upgrade my Champion's Tunic.
