Ypr is not as bad as people say it is [LONG POST]

Yeshwantpur

I've been here for 2 years and I honestly really like it. There are of course a lot of things that piss us off but it has nothing to do with the campus and it's just the institution itself which can really suck sometimes, but if you're at Christ, you're at Christ. Nothing you can do about it. But I've seen a lot of people nervous about joining ypr because they've heard it's bad, usually from people from other campuses.

I feel the best part of the place is that it's NEW. So all the labs, classrooms, washrooms, auditoriums, are all new. So everything is in REALLY good condition. I've been to Central and Kengeri as well, and easily the washrooms are wayy bigger and cleaner and much fancier. The campus is cleaned multiple times a day so it's always extremely clean. The main audi is massive and really well done. It's the biggest across all campuses. There's a bird's park in the back which is designed really well and you can enter inside and pet the birds and let them sit on your hand. The main seating area outside is called Peacock Circle because there's a land behind it where peacocks are just roaming about so you can often see peacocks while eating your lunch.

The canteen is WAYYY better than the others, especially Kengeri, it was such a shock for us when we went to Kengeri and saw the condition of the canteens. There's a lot of food choice, there's even a Domino's and a Hangyo ice cream parlor with really good choice. The football turf is huge and really great for just chilling in the break too. The new library is really really amazing, it's so nice to just chill there and study or do your projects.

That's the other thing, every few months, they're building new things. Look, without a doubt, Kengeri and Central have a bigger campus and a lot more greenery, and is really nicer to walk around. But YPR is definitely bigger than Bannerghatta, and still has some space outside to relax. But the lack of trees is definitely sad.

I know most of the new admissions are wondering how strict it is. Yes, it's true that they can be stricter with dress code compared to Central. But at the end of the day it really depends on your department and HOD. BBA and BCom have it really tough compared to any of the other departments. But the others are pretty chill. There are lot of girls with coloured hair in the other departments, lot of guys with longer hair and beards, piercings etc. Just make sure you have your dupatta/tie in your bag even if you aren't wearing it, just in case someone stops you.

I'm not gonna mention my dept but feel free to ask anything else. I'm aiming this towards the new admissions and people looking to apply, who are nervous about the campus. And I really hope no one got offended because that wasn't my intention at all.
