Braking question

What would let another driver using the same car brake 50m later than me? I'm doing the sprint race on LFM at Nurburgring and went to an open practice server just to see what times people were posting. I can do a 1:59:5 like at the limit in the McClaren. The fastest guy was doing 154's on average and had a 152 fastest lap. I watched him drive a few laps and saw that some how he can brake a good 50m after where I start to brake. Turn 1 for example I need to brake at the 100m , this guy at just about the 50m board. It was like this for almost every corner. Is this a setup issue, a technique thing.. Both? Maybe an equipment issue. I'm using a Logitech g920 wheel an pedals. I adjusted the in game settings for the brake pedal to not begin braking till I begin to feel resistance so I have some reference for trail braking. That seemed to help a lot not having so much brake pedal with no reference.
