Question about refferal program

So since the game is currently on a massive sale, Ive wondered about the referral program. I really want the time piece backpack trophy and as I've not got anyone willing to play, I looked on Google and there's apparently a work around for solo players where you just have to make a 2nd console account and Ubisoft account and purchase it again. However, it says that the time piece trophy can then be put on your main account, but how? I thought only refferals could earn it and you can't transfer apparel items. Can someone explain or confirm whether this work around can reward the backpack trophy and weapon on the main account or has Google got this wrong before I do it? Thank you.
