So this is an explanation of how the deity roll is tied. First, you start with the shirt inside out, sleeves inside each other. Then draw your first Circle about three to four inches down from the neck of the shirt. Then flip the shirt over, and go to the bottom of the circle and start a new circle on the backside, that'll be the bottom half of your deity. If you have any questions, let me know. Questions
What fabric are you using (100% cotton best)? Yes
Are you using fiber-reactive dye (Procion), or another type? Yes
Will you use soda ash or any pre-soak? yes 1-2 cups of SA per gallon
Tips:
Pre-wash shirts to remove starch
Use soda ash pre-soak for brighter, longer-lasting colors with fiber-reactive dyes. Also Uhera
Use rubber bands to compress the circles and keep dye lines sharp.
Dye over Ice let melt naturally.
Apply dye with squeeze bottles for control; plan colors before applying.
Let dye set 6–24 hours (longer = stronger colors); wrap in plastic to keep damp. 70 degrees for 24hrs
Rinse in cold, then warm water until water runs clear; then wash separately.
Wear gloves.
