Is it normal to feel a slight vibration at idle after repairs (transmission mount, exhaust pipe, alternator) on a 2022 Honda Accord?
Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice because I’m not sure if what I’m feeling is normal or not.
I have a 2022 Honda Accord that recently had some repairs done after road debris damage. The shop replaced the transmission mount, exhaust pipe, and alternator, along with some bumper work.
Since getting the car back, I’ve noticed a very fine, fast vibration at idle that I can feel through the steering wheel and brake pedal. It almost feels like a phone buzzing. The RPM appears steady on the dash, and the car drives smoothly at speed. The vibration is just more noticeable when the car is stopped.
I also notice a single soft “clink” when shifting into reverse, but it only happens once when the gear engages.
Things I’ve already checked:
• Opened the hood and the engine is not jumping or moving excessively
• RPM seems stable
• The car drives normally and smoothly
• No warning lights
The shop that did the repair is about 2 hours away, so I’m trying to figure out if this sounds like normal behavior, possibly due to a new transmission mount, or if it’s something I should have a local mechanic inspect.
For those familiar with Accords or engine mounts:
• Is a fine idle vibration like this normal after a mount replacement?
• Is a single soft clink when shifting into reverse typical drivetrain slack?
Just trying to understand if I’m overthinking it or if it’s worth getting checked locally.
Thanks!
