This trade was a strong reminder that the real edge in trading usually comes from the higher timeframe context, not just the entry itself.

Earlier in the week the market swept **Monday’s low**, which was the first signal that sell-side liquidity was being targeted. Price then continued lower on Tuesday and printed a **new weekly low**, which helped establish the broader weekly narrative. Once that liquidity had been taken and price began reclaiming back into the range, the tone of the market started shifting. Instead of continuation to the downside, we began seeing signs of displacement and accumulation.

After the reclaim, price formed a clean **4-hour Fair Value Gap (FVG)**. That imbalance became the main level I was watching for a reaction. When price eventually returned to that area, the entry itself wasn’t immediately comfortable. The trade sat in some drawdown at first, which is common when working with higher timeframe levels. But the key factor was that the structure and weekly bias remained intact.

The real reason this trade stood out was the **IRL → ERL sequence**. Earlier in the week, internal range liquidity had already been taken below the range. Once price reclaimed structure and tapped the 4-hour imbalance, the logical draw on liquidity shifted higher. That meant the next objective for price was the **external range liquidity sitting above the market**.

Once the reaction came, the move developed quickly. Buyers stepped in aggressively off the 4H FVG and price expanded toward the higher liquidity target. From the entry area, the move delivered **over 250 points on MNQ**, turning the idea into a very clean runner.

The lesson here is simple. The entry candle itself is rarely the true edge. The edge comes from understanding **where liquidity has already been taken, what the higher timeframe bias is, and where price is likely seeking next**. When those pieces align, the trade can deliver exactly the way the model suggests.

I **copy traded this idea across two 50K Alpha Zero funded accounts**, which brought the total realized profit on the day to **just under $1,100**.
