Talk me out of getting a Vizla
My rescue GSD passed due to old age recently, and after taking some time to grieve I’ve decided it’s time to start looking for a breeder for a new puppy.
I am currently enrolled in horseshoeing school, and will be working part-time as a farrier and continuing my current behavioral training/colt starting business the rest of the week. I want a dog to take with me everywhere I travel, (going from farm to farm shoeing horses, giving lessons, and riding). I want a dog athletic enough to go with me riding trails for 3-5 hours while I exercise clients’ horses, and clingy enough to not care for wandering. My old German Shepherd was a great dog, but she couldn’t keep up with my pace on an average work day due to age and bad hips.
I’ll be able to provide my dog with multiple hours of exercise daily, going with me to all my appointments, and lots of socialization opportunities. Am I missing anything? Would a Vizla be a bad fit?
