Terrible green screening? Bad lens choice?

Is this new show shot in front of a green screen a lot? So many shots have like a weird blurry background? It looks awful. Are they just shooting on like a super wide aperture for some reason? I don't know, it drives me insane; even the edges of in focus things are out of focus. Anyone else?
