Robot Vaccum Xiaomi X20 Pro bricked after firmware update - "line sensor error" and "cliff sensor error" even after replacing Lidar sensor
Hi everyone,
I'm at my wit's end here and hoping someone has experienced this and found a solution.
I bought a Xiaomi X20 Pro robot vacuum about 4 months ago. It worked flawlessly until a firmware update in December 2026. Immediately after the update, it started showing "line sensor error" and "cliff sensor error" messages and refuses to start cleaning.
Here's what I've tried so far (with no success):
· Factory reset (multiple times)
· Changing WiFi networks and restarting router
· Uninstalling/reinstalling Mi Home app
· Opened the unit and thoroughly cleaned ALL sensors (including the line sensors and cliff sensors specifically)
· Replaced the Lidar sensor (bought a new one thinking the original was faulty)
Yes, I actually replaced the Lidar sensor and the errors persist. This strongly suggests it's NOT a hardware issue, but a firmware bug that's bricked the device.
I've searched online and found MANY reports from other users with the exact same problem after the same update. It seems to be a widespread issue.
Has anyone here managed to fix this? Is there a way to downgrade to a previous firmware version? Has Xiaomi released a fix that actually works?
I already opened a support ticket, but I'm trying all possible avenues.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
