Got injured at work so my company sent me to a chiropractor they work with, but the chiropractor caused a new injury

Location: Texas.

I sprained my back in January at my job. I told my boss two days later because when it initially happened, I thought I just slept on it wrong or tweaked it, no big deal.

Fast forward to February and it got to the point where I couldn’t even bend down or hardly move without pain so my boss told me to go to their chiropractor for X-rays.

I go there and have the X-rays done. The chiropractor said my hips were misaligned and that he can remedy that. So we go back to his office and he has me lay down on the table to start the treatment for the lower back sprain.

Well he walks behind me, pushes my feet together and tugs on my leg then says “There. Now your pants will fit better.”

Then he starts working on my muscles.

The pain gradually got worse, most notably on my left side that he adjusted. I didn’t once think that my hip that was fixed could be the problem because he never mentioned anything regarding that side that was hurting.

The pain ended up going away and I could walk normally so I had my evaluation to see if I could return to work. He had me turn on my side and pressed my legs in and popped my lower left side. The next two days were hell then on the 3rd day I was at work, I shifted my weight to my left leg and my entire lower half locked up. I couldn’t move, couldn’t walk, couldn’t sit down and couldn’t stop crying from the pain.

My boss brought me back to the shop and told me to go back to the chiropractor. So I picked my friend up to help me walk and go with me to the appointment. I hadn’t stopped crying and I told him that the entire left side is hurting. He told me “Well that’s normal.”

Once again, not even mentioning that it could be my hips. I told him the middle of my thighs were throbbing and my entire groin was hurting. He just had me lay down on cracked my back. He said to keep doing what I’ve been doing with the heating pad, walk around when I’m able and keep taking the muscle relaxers.

I get better once again so I go in for a final appointment. I told him I don’t want him popping or cracking my back because the last time he did that, my back locked up. I go back to work and a few hours in, I’m walking and when I shift to my left leg, my back locks up again.

I tell my boss that he did a hip adjustment that I didn’t ask for and this Is what has been causing me problems. He tells me they’re filling a workers comp claim. The company completely butchered the claim saying my back is what they’re listing as the problem and that I lift furniture at work.

Not only that but the chiropractor stated that “she also had pre-existing hip misalignment and coupled with weak core strength could be contributing to sore muscles. He did not believe any severe injury short of working muscles that are unused to it but stated that she is adamant of severe pain and suggested an MRI referral.”

Not once did he say I would need to exercise certain muscles or complete certain exercises. He pulled my leg and that was the end of it.

I can barely walk, i can’t go back to work, I definitely can’t bend over, bend down, turn completely to my left. He destroyed my body and I want to know if there is absolutely ANYTHING that I can do.

I’m stuck in this workers comp claim limbo because they lied about the injury. I spoke to the adjuster today and even he said they should have sent me to urgent care and not the chiropractor.
